Day 1 - We landed in Cancun and hopped on a slow bus to Valladolid.
Day 2 - We visited the sinkholes of Cenote Samula and Cenote Dzitnup. We then took a bus to Chichen Itza and spent the day wandering around the giant complex. There were massive temples, exquisite (often gruesome!) carvings and even a ball court. We got a hotel in Merida.
Day 3 - We rented a car for the day to drive along the Puuc Route. The stops included the complexes of Uxmal, Kabah, Sayil, Labna and Xlapak.
Day 4 - We explored some of the main buildings of Merida including the city hall, cathedral, government palace and archeological museum.
Day 5 - We caught a bus down to Tulum and enjoyed the beautiful ruins located along the coast. Iguanas ran rampant! In the evening we had dinner at the beach.
Day 6 - We had a wild ride into the jungle to go snorkeling among the stalactites in the Dos Ojos cave system. We then headed to Playa del Carmen.
Day 7 - In the morning, we did some snorkeling. Then we wandered the day away in town.
Day 8 - Unfortunately it was already time to fly home.
