DAY 18

In Bali, every temple has a major celebration every 120 days (it lasts about 3 days). Today started one in Ubud. We witnessed a huge parade (with several hundred people) all dressed in traditional costumes, with a marching gamelan band and three Barongs.

In the evening, we went to see the Calonarang dance. Bats, frogs and beetles were almost as plentiful as the number of actors on stage. It ended up being more of a religious service, and after a few dances, the whole village poured in to be blessed.
