PATTAYA (Day 25 - part 4)

Construction .... Everything is connected by wood.

Outside were three different bells, each with a different sound and purpose. We got to give them a try.

After the tour, we sat a bit out by the breaker wall along the sea. Then we caught a horse and carriage ride back.

We grabbed a songtheaw to the beach for a bit to watch the sun end its day.

We then headed to the "walking street"... which becomes a pedestrian zone after 7 pm each night. It It felt a lot like the Vegas strip. It was packed with neon signs; girls stood around holding signs advertising drink specials; guys trying to entice you into restaurants or go-go bars, etc. But there were also things that told you that you WEREN'T in Vegas... Thai boxing in one bar; a stuffed crocodile posed in the Thai greeting position (the wai), and the bug cart guy with cooked scorpions, cockroaches, grasshoppers and large maggots. Then of course, there were the lady boys.
