SIHANOUKVILLE (Day 20)

We took a tuktuk to the bus station. Cars, bikes and motorbikes all come within millimeters of each other!

We bought tickets for US$3.50 to Sihanoukville then wandered about until it was time to board. The bus left a bit early... which was good because it spent a good 10 minutes driving in circles trying to get to a gas station.

The drive was mostly through countryside and small towns.There was trash EVERYWHERE. After about 2 hours, we got a bathroom break.

About another 2 hours late, we arrived in Sihanoukville. Sihanoukville (or Krong Preah Sihanouk) is a popular beach town.

Gerald stayed at his friend's hotel and I found a small room at another place nearby for US$4. You get what you pay for!

I walked to pharmacy because I had picked up a horrific cough. Apparently everyone gets this. I was told the only way to get rid of it is with an antibiotic... but since literally everything can be bought over the counter without a prescription, that wasn't a problem.

In the evening, there was an electrical storm and the power got knocked out for a long time. It regularly goes out, but usually just for short periods.

I had dinner at the hotel, took a cold shower (that's all there was... but in this heat, that was quite ok), and called it a night.
