We then walked over to Wat Traimit to see the Golden Buddha (Phra Phuttha Maha Suwana Patimakon). It's not super big (only about 16 feet tall) but is apparently made of 100% gold... weighing over 12,000 pounds!

THIS is it!
Outside was a shrine with a large tree covered with hanging vines.
We took the metro back, grabbed some lunch, hopped on the sky train to the ferry, got off at Mahoraj Pier and walked to Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram (or Wat Phra Kaew), Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The place was AMAZING!

We got to see the Emerald Buddha. It's called "emerald" simply because it's green. It's actually made of jade. No one except for the king (or the crown prince if the king is busy) is allowed to touch it in order to change its robes.
