ICELAND (August - September 1999)
The best time (weather-wise) to visit Iceland is mid-summer. The original plan was to go in July, but when my cousin learned of our trip, he also wanted to go... but he couldn't leave until August. So my friend, Ron, and I agreed to delay our departure. At the very last minute, however, my cousin decided not to go and we ended up boarding the plane the very end of August. Unfortunately the summer weather had already departed as had most of the wildlife. But it was still an amazing adventure... with very few tourists.
