PIREAUS (Day 1)
We flew into the Athens airport (which was a goodly distance outside the city itself) from Amsterdam, giving us some nice low views over the Greek landscape and numerous isles.
We hopped on a bus headed for the port town of Pireaus, and an hour or so later we were checking into a hotel near the waterfront. Giant cruiseships filled the harbor and the city was bustling. Piraeus is the main port in Greece and the largest passenger port in Europe.
