Day 82 - After work, I got a 3-hour ride with Norm down to Stirling, where I stayed at Willy Wallace Hostel in an 8-bed dorm room.

Day 83 - In the morning, I walked to the Wallace Monument a bit outside of town. The views weren't that great because of the thick fog, but it was still a lovely area. It was raining heavily by the time I returned to town, but in spite of getting soaking wet, I saw many lovely things. I then caught the train to Edinburgh (pronounced "Edin-brah") where I stayed in a 6-bed dorm room in a hostel run by Regan's sister.

Day 84 - The weather was lovely. I started out the morning walking about town, then joined a free walking tour of the city. There I met Sebastian, a college kid from Munich, so we finished off the day touring the castle (and seeing the 'Stone of Destiny') and Calton Hill (for the sunset). I met Norm and Tina for my ride back up to Cardhu... but the car broke down while still in town. We ended up getting a ride all the way back in a tow truck, finally arriving home at 2 am.

Day 85 - It was a big work day. Afterwards, I packed my bags and Tina dropped me off at Forres, where I caught a bus to Inverness. Christiane (one of my new workaway hosts) picked me up and we drove down to a remote cottage near Foyers, a tiny village between Loch Mhor and Loch Ness. My task here is to design a website.

Day 86 - The internet just happened to be down all day, so I put on my thermals and headed out into the frost-covered countryside. I walked through the glowing fall forests, past waterfalls and Highland cattle, down to the shores of Loch Ness. On the way back, I met John, a guy in his 80's. We had some tea and I got to hear the interesting stories of his life.

Day 87 - I took a lovely walk down to Loch Mohr before the afternoon rains

Day 88 - It rained all day, so I stayed in and actually tried to earn my keep for a bit.

Day 89 - It was another rainy day so I actually got a rough draft of the website done... with help from the 'Kittens of Mass Destruction' (as I liked to call the mischievous pair).

Day 90 - Christiane and I started the day with a beach walk at Findhorn (among the sunken old WWII bunkers), followed by a visit to the "rich hippie" commune nearby (and its houses made from old whisky barrels). Next came a beautiful forest walk at Randolph's Leap, finishing with the Balnuaran of Clava (a prehistoric cemetery).

Day 91 - I went for a lovely afternoon walk wtith Christiane and the dogs through the forest to Loch Bran.

Day 92 - I walked down to John's and dragged him out for a stroll around Loch Ness. He had trained the local birds to eat from his hand.

Day 93 - It was time to go home, so I flew from Inverness to London, then to Iceland, then on to the States.
