Wu Gorge is the second gorge. Filled with many peaks, it is 27 miles long and takes the cruise ship about 2 hours to pass through it.
This is a major transportation channel, equal to seven railways.
This large hole in the limestone is known as Endless Cave because three men once disappeared in it.

The water level approaches some houses.
Like a winding corridor of paintings, the gorge displays nine of twelve splendid peaks of the Wushan Mountain Range. They are endowed with various fascinating shapes and many have equally creative stories.
In the distance is Gathering of Immortals Peak.
Goddess Peak has a protruding rock in the shape of a girl.
According to legend, Yaoji, the 23rrd and youngest daughter of the Mother of the Western Sky, was very clever. Bored in the celestial palace, she descended to earth. As she passed by Wushan Mountains, she learned of 12 destructive dragons. She killed them and they turned into the 12 mountains. She then remained on top of the Mt. Wu pointing out the courses for the passing ships, getting rid of dangers for people, and summoning winds and rains for mankind. Year after year, she forgot heaven as well as herself and finally turned into stone.
These paths lead up to the villages over the mountains. Due to the rising river, many people had to move to higher ground.
Another path wraps around the cliffside. In the old dynasty days when the water levels were much lower and there were treacherous rapids, condemned prisoners were used as trackers along these paths. It was very dangerous work and often they either fell into the river and drowned or broke a leg and were left to starve to death.
High on the cliff rests Watching Moon Pagoda.

The ridge here is known as The Great Wall.

The hydrofoil is a type of water taxi. This is definitely not the proverbial slow boat to (or in) China.
