SAN DIEGO SAFARI (Day 6 - part 2)


Proteas adapt well to the dry California climate, absorbing moisture from the coastal fog.


Even the plant life was funky!


No fence separated us from them.


Unique locomotion


There was a platypus exhibit but it was so dark inside that we couldn't be sure if we actually saw them or not.

We continued along the path which led us through some extensive desert botanical gardens on our way to Condor Ridge.


An upper path ... and a lower bridge on our right (which we'd take on our way out)


A pen filled with Desert Bighorn Sheep. It was clearly naptime!
