RATTLESNAKE CANYON (Day 2 - part 3)

We hopped back into the boat and continued down the river.

A glance back upriver

Incredible sky, color and reflections!!

Another side canyon

Perched waaaaay high up on a rock was an osprey (even blurry, his white head and brown eye stripe are clearly visible).

Another bird, in the shape of a cloud!

At Mile 6, we arrived at our campsite. Holding the rope, I jumped off the nose of the boat while he held it steady with the oars. It wasn't always easy finding something sturdy to tie the rope to... a tree stump or branch, sometimes the marker post (but often they were too far away).

The gear (clothes and bedding were in the yellow and green dry bags) ... the tent

A washing station for hands and dishes .... The bathroom facilities were usually placed by a distant bush or tree for privacy.

The gorgeous colors of another day ending

Dinner consisted of quesadillas with pepper jack cheese! There were mosquitos in the evening but they only lasted for about 30 minutes. The temperatures cooled off quite quickly.
