We caught the 3:02 pm bus to the airport and it was absolutely packed. On the way, a storm blew in with lots and lots of rain and even some lightning. We were worried this would delay our flight.

In spite of the weather delay, we departed mostly on-time. There was a long line of planes backed-up and waiting for the runway though.

It was around 10 pm when we landed. We had arranged a transportation service to the hotel. Brian, our driver, happily told us some city facts as we headed into the busy downtown.

Our hotel for the next week was the Wyndham New Orleans on Royal Street, smack dab in the heart of the French Quarter. To make things even more wonderful, we got a room on the 15th floor that overlooked the Mississippi River. Gorgeous both day and night!
