We took the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway on the way home, but all countless springs were not flowing very much. Since we were passing a fish hatchery, we decided to stop and check it out briefly.
Finding the hatchery was very confusing. The signs sent us in circles and there were 'No Parking' signs around all potential structures. Finally we just stopped at something and did indeed find zillions of baby fish.
In spite of all the netting, this bird found a way in. Fish were jumping out of the water constantly.
On the way back to the highway, we stopped briefly at a lake filled with several adult Canada geese and their numerous goslings.
Back in Caldwell, we grabbed a tasty pizza at Keystone Pizza. As the day began to fade, we wandered around the old downtown... the river, Indian Creek Plaza, the train station, and many historic streets.
