Clearly the Flemish artist of this tapestry from 1500 had never actually seen a dog in real life.

Our final stop... the theater, where we got to see a short clip with footage of William Hearst and his famous guests.

After the tour, we were allowed to roam around for as long as we wanted before catching another shuttle bus back down the hill.


This marble Roman sarcophagus (stone coffin) dates back to about 230. It is covered with the images of god Apollo, goddess Minerva and nine Muses (the daughters of the god Jupiter who inspired poetry, song, dance and other arts).
