BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK (Day 20 - part 3)

The trail continued on... wrapping through one enticing landscape after the other.

Emerging to yet another wonderous view

And again

Far below was my destination...

... the junction of Navajo Loop, Queens and Peekaboo Loop trails

Rock Columbines (or Dwarf Blue Columbines) are shorter and smaller than the Rocky Mountain Columbines I am normally used to.

Descending back into the valley

Approaching the junction of trails

Starting back up the Navajo Loop Trail

A steeeeeeep climb!

The valley spread out before me once again, now bathed in a very different light than from this morning.

Good ol' Thor's Hammer

Almost to the top!

Success! The final view from Sunset Point.

I got back shortly before 1 pm. The parking lot was full in spite of how busy the free shuttle seemed to be. I returned to my tent and decided to take the rest of the day off... entertaining myself with delicious food and a couple specialty beers.

Look! It's Thor's Hammer!

I learned that last night hit a low of 36 degrees F (didn't feel THAT cold) and tonight it was supposed to get down to 37 degrees. The evening remained pleasant enough so that I attempted to take some sky photos after it got dark. Unfortunately there were too many lights from constant car headlights and the nearby bathroom.

My best starry night attempt
